Radio stations WSMI AM/FM Litchfield, Illinois are accepting applications for an Agricultural Reporter. Knowledge of agriculture is important. Energy, drive, a good work ethic, honesty, the ability to be a self starter, good people skills and strong desire and willingness to do the job and continue to improve are also important. The job will include gathering and producing local stories, conducting interviews and recording them, attending meetings, electronically editing audio, delivering daily ag news reports, representing the stations at various events, possibly speaking to groups about our stations and agriculture, and broadcasting on location from fairs and special events. Course study or experience in radio broadcasting preferred. Experience with Adobe Audition, portable digital recorders, Tieline codecs, Comrex codecs, and computers would be a plus. Applicants who have ties to and currently live in Bond, Montgomery, Macoupin, or Madison County Illinois within 30 miles of the WSMI Litchfield-Hillsboro studios preferred.
