Hillsboro Man Found Dead in Possible Suicide

Hillsboro Police and the Montgomery County Coroner's Office are investigating a possible suicide after a man was found hanging in a garage early Wednesday morning. David DeVaisher, 61, of Hillsboro was pronounced dead at the scene, located at 934 Rountree Street. He was found after authorities were dispatched at 1:52 a.m.  Read more...

Four juveniles were taken into custody over the weekend in reference to a string of vehicle burglaries that have occurred in Hillsboro recently. A 17-year-old male was arrested Saturday after allegedly causing a disturbance inside McDonald's in Hillsboro. According to Hillsboro Police Chief Randy Leetham, the 17-year-old had jumped the restaurant's counter and threatened employees. Water service has been restored to customers of the Nokomis water system after a break in the water main caused service to be shut down for hours on Wednesday.
