Beef Agreement
Mon, 17 May 2010 5:54:44 CDTThe U.S. Meat Export
Federation is clearing the air after an accidental reprint of an old news
article caused some confusion regarding the beef agreement between the U.S. and
South Korea. USMEF says no changes have been made to the agreement. The
speculation that the agreement had changed was because an article originally
printed in the spring of 2008 in Ag Weekly was reprinted by a variety of news
outlets.

Korea continue to rebound. For the first three months of 2010 - total beef
exports are up 24-percent in value and 11-percent in volume versus 2009. During
the month of March alone - export value topped 28.5-million dollars. That’s a
112-percent increase over March of last year. Volume hit 13.3-million pounds - a
58-percent jump.
