Fatal Crash in Greene County
Mon, 08 Feb 2010 10:51:50 CSTA fatal crash in Greene County on Sunday remains under investigation by Illinois State Police.
According to State Police reports, 22 year old Meredith Middleton of Bethalto was traveling southbound on US 67 near Macoupin Creek Bridge when for unknown reasons her 2008 Dodge Nitro crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a 2002 Ford Explorer at 1:37am.
The driver of the Ford, 27 year old Mindi Mae June Rogers of Newton, Iowa was killed in the crash. A passenger in the same vehicle, 33 year old Michele Barnes of Carrollton was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
Middleton was seriously injured and flown by ARCH helicopter to St. John‘s Hospital in Creve Coure, Missouri.
No charges have been filed by State Police at this time.
US 67 was closed for several hours on Sunday while the crash was being investigated.
