One Person Injured In An Accident Near Ohlman
Sat, 10 May 2008 10:42:47 CDT(Ohlman)--One person was injured in a single vehicle accident Wednesday night west of Ohlman. According to Illinois State Police, a car driven by sixteen year old Michael Beatty of Taylor Springs was westbound on Route 16 when he ran off the road. His 1995 Pontiac Bonneville went through a ditch, striking a utility pole.
Beatty told State Troopers that he was texting on his cell phone when the accident occured. He was taken by ambulance to Hillsboro Area Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Beatty was cited with using a wireless phone while driving.
